Warsaw’s drinking fountain

A project in context to Vistula river emerged from competition for a new Warsaw’s city furniture.

An idea for a chain of public drinking fountains appeared within Warsaw’s Citizens Budget. There was an architectural competition organized and a winning project is going to be accomplished. The project directly connects to a type of a heavy well of municipal water supply, located on the river’s current. A form of this 60’s tower-shaped well(popularly called The Fat Katie) was translated into a figure of a city furniture. With this the Vistula, a river is still wild and natural, became the main hero of the competition. The  graphic design project initially contained a spread of information among the professional designers. Afterwards when the contest results were announced, a catalogue presenting all submitted projects was published.
